Full renovation of the existing Art Deco dwelling and the construction of a new kitchen, living, dining and double garage at the rear to accommodate a growing family.
The client had requested a short construction period as they had moved their family into a rental property for the duration of the build. The site had narrow side access, so preparation and planning were key elements in delivering the project on time.
Comprehensive planning and consultation with the client ensured that items with longer lead times were organised early in the process, plenty of time was allocated for decision making well before installation of fixtures and fittings. Structural elements were delivered using small plant and machinery and the schedule was kept tight to ensure delays were kept to a minimum.
The result was a sensitive restoration of the Art Deco features in the existing residence and a modern extension with a high level of detail in the finishing’s. The vertically aligned Spotted Gum cladding added a natural beauty to the exterior of the garage and extension, with large format, high performance doors and windows complimenting the powder coated floating steel awning beams and polished concrete flooring.
Lachy and the team were professional and strived for a quality finish. Great communication, they really considered our needs to make our family home both beautiful and functional!
